India Unveils Major Youth Skilling Initiatives, Boosts Electronics Manufacturing, and Proposes Tax Reforms for Foreign Investment

In a significant push for national development, the Indian government has launched a series of ambitious schemes and policy proposals over the past 24 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil youth-focused initiatives worth over ₹62,000 crore, prominently featuring the PM-SETU scheme for upgrading Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Concurrently, the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) has garnered investment proposals nearly double its initial target, signaling robust growth in domestic electronics production. Furthermore, NITI Aayog has proposed an optional presumptive taxation scheme to enhance tax certainty for foreign investors and attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
