Economic Vision and Space Sector Push Highlight PM Modi's Address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Economic Times World Leaders Forum, asserting that India, guided by the mantra of "reform, perform, and transform," is poised to help lift the world out of slow growth. He stated that India is on track to become the world's third-largest major economy and a developed nation by 2047. Emphasizing commitment to reforms, he indicated that the next-generation GST reform process, aimed at simplification, would be completed before Diwali. The Prime Minister also urged the private sector to increase investment in research and development across critical sectors like clean energy, quantum technology, battery storage, and biotechnology to strengthen the vision of a developed India.

On National Space Day, Prime Minister Modi further urged India's private sector and startups to set a goal of launching 50 rockets annually, affirming the government's intent and willpower to implement the necessary reforms. He highlighted India's progress in the space sector, noting its increasing role in governance through applications in crop insurance, fisheries, disaster management, and the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. Modi also announced that India would build its own space station in the coming years, with the first private sector-built PSLV rocket and India's first private communication satellite already under development.

CBI Books Anil Ambani in Alleged Bank Fraud Case; Ambani Denies Claims

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against Reliance Communications (RCOM) and its promoter director, Anil Ambani, for an alleged bank fraud amounting to over ₹2,000 crore, causing a significant loss to the State Bank of India. The agency conducted searches at Ambani's residence and RCOM premises in connection with the case. Following the raids, industrialist Anil Ambani denied the allegations of a ₹2,000-crore bank fraud.
