The Indian Women's cricket team delivered a stellar performance against Pakistan in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, securing a comprehensive 88-run victory in Colombo on Sunday, October 5, 2025. India, batting first, posted a total of 247 runs. Harleen Deol contributed 46 runs, and Richa Ghosh added a quickfire 35 off 20 balls. In response, Pakistan was bowled out for 159. Kranti Goud was the star with the ball, picking up three wickets for just 20 runs, ably supported by Deepti Sharma, who also claimed three wickets. This win marked India's 12th consecutive ODI victory over Pakistan and placed them at the top of the points table with two wins from two matches.

Meanwhile, the Indian men's cricket team registered a commanding victory over West Indies in the first Test match held in Ahmedabad, winning by an innings and 140 runs within three days. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the architect of this triumph, scoring an unbeaten 104 for his sixth Test century and then taking 4-54 with his spin bowling in the second innings.
